Can I take Cialis for my erection problem – even though I suffer from high blood pressure?

Question

I suffer from high blood pressure (BP) 148/90mmHg and I take 2.5mg of bendrofluazide and 8mg of Coversyl to keep it under control.

Can I use Cialis to treat my erectile dysfunction (ED) without problems?

Answer

Well, to begin with it is a known fact that most high blood pressure treating drugs cause erectile dysfunction (ED) and this is true of bendrofluazide although again most men are OK on it.

Coversyl (also known as perindopril) belongs to the ‘anti-high BP’ drugs otherwise called ‘ACE-inhibitors’. Generally, they don’t cause major problems with erection. However, since you’re getting ED, it is important that you ask your GP about the possibility of switching blood pressure treatment - to see if that makes any difference to your potency.

Finally on the question of Cialis, this is one of the three main related oral drugs for ‘impotence’. It does go well with a number of other medications. It may not be a good choice for you because it is BP lowering and if combined with the other two medications it may drop your BP too much and you will feel like fainting.
Please check with your GP about this.

Yours sincerely
